Close to 25 years ago, the parcel of land off Mile 25 of the Blue Ridge Parkway spoke to a man of vision. It spoke to his heart, and it stirred his soul, and he spent close to twenty years listening, contemplating, communing with, and returning to this land before his vision was revealed.
Inspired by his worldwide travels and love for a person and place found among mountains a continent away, Craig Colberg, now accompanied by his wife Anne, tapped the land again for answers. What they discovered was a richness of soil exceptionally suited to one of the world’s most delicate and coveted crops: the cool climate grapevine.
Team
Craig Colberg and his wife Anne have always been attracted to places of great beauty. Whether it has been on the shores of the Outer Banks of North Carolina or the soaring views of Table Mountain in Cape Town, South Africa, they have had an eye for extraordinary vistas. So, when one of the most iconic properties along the entire Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia and North Carolina was put up for sale, it took only seven days to acquire it. With subsequent purchases of adjacent lands, the total property now exceeds 350 acres. The Colbergs had multiple visions: of preservation, productivity, and places to live and enjoy. So the land was put in a conservation easement, the vineyard was born, and the concept for 12 Ridges Vineyard and Residence Club was formed.
An agent with Wiley Real Estate, Matthias joined the 12 Ridges Residences in 2021. He brings with him years of experience in sales and hospitality. Prior to 12 Ridges, he sold real estate in Central America, managed a historic Virginia manor and worked for several years in sales for a local CE firm. Originally from Germany, Matthias speaks fluent English, German, Spanish and Portuguese. He visited Virginia for the first time in 2014, and soon decided to make it his permanent home. As a sales manager with 12 Ridges Residences, Matthias is excited to assist future owners in discovering their own retreat in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains.
Rob is the President and Partner of Elite Alliance, who joined the 12 Ridges team providing development consulting for Luxury Hospitality Management and Fractional Residence Club sales. An integral piece of the projects team, Rob brings with him over 20 years of management and development experience guiding the 12 Ridges Residence Club to fruition. Along with Rob’s expertise, Elite Alliance also provides 12 Ridges Residence Club owners access to their vast luxury home Exchange portfolio with over 120 coveted destinations and over 8,000 like-minded members.
